In School Today, suburban parent's rejection of
the idea of sex education taught in their local
school acts as a catalyst, highlighting the hypocrisy
of middle class America in the late 60’s/early
70’s. Filled with running jokes (a too-vigilant
vice cop; a suburban mom who talks in TV commercial
jargon; a sheltered teen attracted to his babysitter)
this film is a bizarre mix of message and parody
that truly could only have been made in the early
1970's.
