| SUPERSONIC
SAUCER/ATTACK OF THE ANIMAL PEOPLE
This Sci-Fi double feature mixes a British
kids film with a repurposed Swidish monster
movie turned incoherent American B-movie.
Supersonic Saucer is about a group of
school children at a boarding school who
spot a flying saucer that turns into a
diminutive being from Venus who the kids
name Meba. Meba foils the plans of some
theives who plan on breaking into the
school safe. What is really remarkable
about Supersonic Saucer is how close it
is to Steven Spielberg’s E.T.
Attack of the Animal People was released
by nortorious American producer Jerry
Warren, who was then known for buying
Mexican monster movies and adding a few
new American scenes to try and sell it
to US theatres. He did the same with Virgil
Vogel’s Space Invasion of Lapland
by adding John Carradine as the narrator
and some out of place cut to scenes involving
American actors. The end result is the
legendary B-movie Attack of the Animal
People.
